Lighted Halloween Glass Block Using 651 Vinyl and Cricut Explore
I created these cute blocks as a donation to a silent auction for a small town fall festival. Full disclosure, I bought the bows! Making bows this cute was probably not going to happen if I tried it myself. What you see is actually a headband I stretched around the block. I purchased the bows from Hobby Lobby as well as the glass blocks and stands. The blocks are clear, although you can purchase blocks that are already frosted.
I sprayed the blocks with Krylon Frosted Glass Finish and let them dry for several days. The first time I used the spray frost I only waited an hour or so and the frost came off where I touched the block. Not to worry though, Dawn dish washing soap takes the frost right off and you can refrost them.
The svg files are all from Cricut Make It Now projects or from the subscription images from Cricut. Using my Cricut Explore machine and 651 vinyl, cutting and weeding the images was a snap. I originally used mini Christmas light strand inside the blocks but didn’t care for how that looked. I went with the single nightlight option instead.
I love how they turned out and hope they get some good bids at the silent auction.
