Gypsy, Cricut & Vinyl

Yes, my first go round with my Cricut and I choose intricate designs in vinyl.  Am I an over achiever or what?  🙂  Both designs are on 6×6 ceramic tile, the tree and compass are from Wall Decor and More and the wording is from Gypsy Wanderings.  I would like to create the tree on a 12×12 tile and add some type of heritage saying or quote.  Any suggestions from my genea-friends?  It took me a total of 2 hours from start to finish (choosing design, laying out words, sizing and placement) to complete both tiles.  The tree was the harder of the two as I had to be very careful that I didn’t stretch or tear the limbs.  All in all I think it turned out beautifully.

For this tile I can see now that I needed to raise the compass slightly so that the S isn’t hidden behind the easel.  I will also confess that the S tore and I had to put it back together.  Patience is going to be the name of the game with vinyl.  I should also mention that I went the thrifty route and used clear contact paper as my transfer paper.  In my YouTube and message board wanderings I saw that method suggested multiple times.  It worked for me.

You can see a wine and martini glass in the background.  Yes, those will be my next project.  I’ve ordered glass vinyl and it should be here in the next few days.  I will share the outcome of those projects as well.
